Student Achievements
First held in 1982, the MTQ is an annual activity open to all primary and secondary students. Students select their own investigation topic based on their personal learning interests and apply mathematics in context. They understand and discover how mathematics is used and found in the world around them, providing a positive experience that reduces the barriers to learning in mathematics and often reduces student maths anxiety.
Donburn Primary School students entered the Maths Talent Quest for the first time in 2024!
We had three entries from Years 4 & 6.
Congratulations to Zhe Yi from 4A! He received a High Distinction for his project ‘Impact of Climate Change in the Finance Industry’.
Zhe Yi attended the MTQ Awards Ceremony on the 17th of October with Mrs. Hoskin and Ms. Kulikov cheering him on. He received a High Distinction certificate along with his peers from schools across Victoria. Congratulations Zhe Yi for an outstanding effort!
We hope that many more students enter next year!

Musical Meistro!
Congratulations to Tyler who is one of Australia’s best junior pianists who performed in the PolMusicA Music Competition at Sydney Opera House in 2024.
“The room was in the Utzon room, with the beautiful Harbour behind the expensive Steinway and Sons piano. I got 3rd prize. I received a trophy, two bags and $200. It was a beautiful experience and I wish I could perform there again.” From Tyler
